Commercial Facilities Technician

The Commercial Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and creating a safe and optimal working and shopping environment for our Resale Stores. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated hard worker who wants to make a difference in our communities by using their skills and abilities to serve. 

Position Description: 

The Commercial Facilities Technician will work under the supervision of The Facilities Director to ensure that all Dream Center Resale Stores are safe and operating under optimal conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance as well as general repairs. The position will include tasks and responsibilities including but not limited to: 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various commercial plumbing problems to include toilet plunging, snaking, or replacements of plumbing parts, piping, etc. 

  • Troubleshoot cause of electrical and appliance problems and make basic repairs such as resetting breakers and GFCI receptacles, changing out receptacles, lighting, fans, etc. 

  • Basic troubleshooting of air conditioning system and diagnosis of problems, changing of filters, cleaning coils, belt replacement, etc. 

  • Maintenance of tools and equipment.

  • Moving and assembling furniture. 

  • Sheetrock repair and painting.

General Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to use computer, smart phone, mobile applications, and computer software such as documents, emails, spreadsheets, etc. 

  • Ability to use common hand, battery, and pneumatic tools. 

  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given. 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Valid SC Driver's License (10 year driving record required).

Physical Requirements

  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching and standing for extended periods of time. 

  • Able to work under non-climatized conditions as well as exposure to hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.

  • Able to work at heights up to 30 feet. 

Experience Requirements

  • Experience with commercial buildings and electrical repairs, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and minor landscaping is highly preferred.

  • The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.

Schedule:

This position is primarily Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. There could potentially be on-call emergencies that would require attention outside of normal business hours as well as occasional weekend or after-hour requirements.
