Driver's Assistant

Location: The Dream Center - 111 Hillcrest Drive Easley, SC 29640

Summary / Purpose of Position:

This position's primary responsibility is to assist the driver over assigned routes to deliver inventory to Resale Stores, complete donor pick-ups, and service donation boxes. This position will work 4 x  10 hour shifts (Schedule would be FRI, SAT, MON, TUES ).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the driver with loading, unloading, and delivery of donated merchandise.

  • Maintain customer relationships by treating all customers and guest with respect and care.

  • Receive donations from donors in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Ensure that all donated goods are properly stored and secured in the truck before the truck moves.

  • Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry.

  • When certified, be expected to drive as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Have the ability to work on one's feet for an entire 10 hour shift

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

  • Must have the ability to repetitively lift, pull and push 50+ pounds, reach above head height, stand, walk, kneel, bend and reach to the bottom of the Gaylord box.

  • Ability to operate a hand-truck and a pallet jack. 

  • Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and/or have a valid DOT Medical Card.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education or equivalent experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required

  • Specialized training required: N/A

  • License/Certification: Valid SC driver's is required and MVR record must meet TDC Insurance criteria before operating the truck.
