Weekend Assistant Position

Location: The Dream Center - 111 Hillcrest Drive Easley, SC 29640

Summary / Purpose of Position:

Maintains and promotes a healthy, nurturing Christian environment in the facility by sharing the Gospel and providing support services to residents. Lives in the facility in which they serve. Ensures the facility operates in a safe and secure manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry; be comfortable and willing to lead a resident to the Lord

  • Models' vulnerability to the residents when appropriate

  • Serve residents residing in the facility

  • Responds appropriately to emergencies

  • Provides access to resident medications

  • Maintains written materials necessary for the orderly provision of services

  • Ensures compliance with resident support guidelines, policies, and procedures

  • Interacts with residents by providing encouragement and support

  • Transports residents to facility related activities when required

  • Attends staff and supervisory meetings as required

  • Performs resident unit inspection for cleanliness and contraband

  • Helps the director ensure building cleanliness, repair, safety, and security

  • Performs other additional duties as assigned by the Director

  • Performs random drug and alcohol screenings

  • Maintains positive working relationships with residents, staff, volunteers and outside agencies

  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and program director/manager.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees facility operations and activities on assigned weekend shifts (Saturdays 8am -10pm, Sundays 8am-8pm).

  • Supervises residents in recreational and other program related activities

  • Responsible to participate in resident evaluation and correction

  • Assume specific administrative duties in the absence of and as authorized by the director

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Required Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred years of experience: 3 years' experience in direct client relationships or related supervision.

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills

  • Possess the ability to speak the truth in love while accurately interpreting communication in relationship

  • License/Certification: Valid SC Driver's License with a clean record able to be added to TDC Insurance. 

  • Able to drive a 15 passenger mini-bus.
